Al Franken leaving Air America on Valentine's Day

Folks, I got this directly from 960 AM KQKE (The Quake) in San Francisco.

According to John Scott of KQKE, Al Franken will leave Air America December 10.

I will try to have a clip available soon, but it's pretty much official as I mentioned earlier on the blog.

UPDATE Nov. 15, 2006:

I finally got around to tracking down and extracting the radio segment here:
John Scott talks about Al Franken Leaving Air America on the Nov. 6 edition of the "Progressive News Hour"
(Click for MP3)

It's official. Franken will leave Feb 14:

The network said in a statement that Franken's last day on the network would be Feb. 14, and that his 12pm-3pm ET time slot would be taken over by Portland, Ore.-based talk show host Thom Hartmann.

The network didn't specify in a statement why Franken was leaving, but Franken told the AP earlier this month that he had contacted Minnesota lawmakers to seek advice about a possible run for the Senate.

It just struck me a day or two ago:

Are you sure you're not confusing this with the date Al Franken leaves to go of the USO tour?

I'm not confusing the two. Check out the clip I just posted :)
